In this paper, we apply homotopy perturbation transform method (HPTM) for solving nonlinear wave-like equations of variable coefficients. This method is the coupling of homotopy perturbation method and Laplace transform method. The nonlinear terms can be easily obtained by the use of He's polynomials. HPTM present an accurate methodology to solve many types of linear and nonlinear differential equations. The approximate solutions obtained by means of HPTM in a wide range of the problem's domain were compared with those results obtained from the actual solutions, the Variational iteration method (VIM) and the Adomain decomposition method (ADM). The fact that proposed technique solves nonlinear problems without using Adomain's polynomials can be considered as a clear advantage of this algorithm over the decomposition method. The comparison shows a precise agreement between the results.

In this paper, we deal with the existence and multiplicity of positive weak solutions for a class of quasilinear elliptic p-Laplacian problems with nonlinear boundary conditions. By extracting the Palais- Smale sequences in the Nehari manifold and using the fibering maps, it is proved that there exists (cid:2019)∗ such that for λ ∈ (0, λ∗), the given boundary value problem has at least two positive solutions.

Security issues can be a barrier to make successful online businesses because the Internet can make critical information vulnerable [1, 2]. Non-repudiation is a security feature that is related to integrity and authenticity [3]. Providing non-repudiation for online communication is a key factor to achieve a successful electronic business [2]. Non-repudiation should ensure that each involvement in an online interaction cannot be denied. Besides, non-repudiation, fairness between the parties also plays an important role to achieve successful electronic businesses. One solution used to achieve fair non-repudiation services is by using a trusted third party (TTP) that implements fair non-repudiation protocols [4]. This project uses work that has been done by Cook et al in 2006 [5] as a starting point, which was a non-repudiation service project that uses SOAP web service technology. However, this project aims to implement non-repudiation services using Representational State Transfer (REST) architecture style principles in order to obtain significant advantages that REST technology provides such as scalability and simplicity.

The paper presents a study and an evaluation of a novel unsupervised segmentation technique based aggregation approach and some of possibility theory concepts. Firstly, the MPFCM (Modified Possibilistic Fuzzy C-Means) algorithm is used to extract information from each of MR images modalities. In second step, an obtained data are combined with an operator in order to exploiting the uncertainty and ambiguity in the images. Finally, the segmented image is constructed using a decision rule. The efficiency of the proposed method is demonstrated by segmentation experiments using simulated MR images with different noise levels.

Image Retrieval for Medical Applications (IRMA) has received a significant research interest over the past decade as a promising approach to address the data management challenges posed by the rapidly increasing volume of medical image data collections in use and also to aid clinical medicine, research, and education relying on visual content in the data. The research presented in this paper was aimed to improve the retrieval performance of an images retrieval system in medical applications based on shape features. In general, the work consists of two phases: (1) enrollment phase, which consist of feature extraction based on developed method to extract the shape features, (2) retrieving phase, which use the Euclidian distance measure. The conducted tests were carried on 350 medical images from four types (i.e., abdominal CT scan, MRI, ultrasonic, X-ray) and give good precision and recall rates (94,89).

In multi-document summarization, order of sentences in summarization result must be coherence and it must represent information in correct steps to make it easy to understand by the reader. Problem arises when some subject of sentences are represented using pronouns. The subject pronoun in an incorrect sentence order will confuse the reader as the pronoun can refer to more than one subject. In this paper, we propose a new subject criterion for sentence ordering strategy to complement the existing ordering strategy. Sentences will be clustered based on its subject and will be ordered with respect to subject levels. We test the system using Document Understanding Conference summarization data and compare it with results from existing algorithm without using subject criterion. The accuracy of ordering with all criterions including subject criterion is 83%. The result shows that there is a slight improvement in ordering accuracy when subject criterion is included.

This paper explores a cluster based sleep scheduling method ton reduce the delay of alarm broadcasting from any sensor in WSNs. When a critical event occurs, an alarm message should be broadcast to the entire network. Specifically, there are two determined traffic paths for the transmission of alarm message, and level-by-level offset based wake up pattern according to the paths, respectively. When a critical event occurs, an alarm message is quickly transmitted along one of the traffic paths to center node, and then it is immediately broadcast by the center node along another path without collision. Therefore, two of the big contributions are that broadcasting delay is only 3D+2L, where D is the maximum hop of nodes to the center node, L is the length of the sleeping duty cycle, and the unit is the size of time slot.
